The new eco-mansion that will be home to NFL GOAT Tom Brady – who sensationally announced his come back from retirement in March – and his model wife Gisele Bundchen is starting to take shape in its waterfront slot on Miami’s exclusive ‘Billionaire’s Bunker’.
The celebrity couple purchased the plot of land for $17 million in late 2020. Since then, they’ve torn down a pre-existing 5,772-square-foot home on their lot and are building a state-of-the-art eco-friendly mansion in its place.
Indian Creek Island is referred to as ‘the world’s most exclusive municipality’, and with just 34 properties available across 300 acres – all of which have waterfront views of Biscayne Bay, near Miami, Florida – it’s also one of the most expensive.
Aptly referred to as ‘Billionaire Bunker’, the island is home to the likes of hotel magnate Jeffrey Soffer, activist Carl Icahn and Hotels.com Founder Robert Diener.
It has also become a hotbed for celebrities, like Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, and political figures, including Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Construction has been ongoing for a few months now and already a basic structure is starting to take place amid cranes and building materials
The 44-year-old Brady, known for his tenacity, intelligent playmaking abilities and remarkable leadership, spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots where he won six Super Bowl titles and added another last year in his first season with the Bucs. Brady is set to begin a less chaotic life after announcing his retirement Tuesday after revealing last week that he was planning to spend more time with his wife and children. ‘It’s not always what I want,’ Brady told SiriusXM ‘s Jim Gray last week. ‘It’s what we want as a family.’ Tom and Gisele plan to build the home in an environmentally-sustainable fashion and will play a hands-on role in helping design it, according to reports.
Future neighbors for the Bradies on the island will include Jared and Ivanka Trump, building their own luxury mansion just a few doors down, and hotel magnate Jeffrey Soffer, activist Carl Icahn and Hotels.com Founder Robert Diener

Brady and Gisele – who have a combined net worth of $650 million – already hold a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio, with luxurious homes in Florida and California.
The couple also belongs to the ultra-exclusive Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana. In December 2020 – the same month they bought their new lot – the couple sold their 12,000-square-foot Brookline, Massachusetts, mansion for $32.5 million, Forbes reported.
Indian Creek Island is only accessible by a single, guarded bridge, and it has a private police force that patrols the community around-the-clock by foot, sky, and land.
The couple’s 8,510-square-foot French neo-classical residence sits on 1.26 acres of land. The original home was equipped with 26-foot domed ceilings, a grand double staircase, open entertaining areas, a large family and screening room, a wood-paneled office, large gym, and a huge master bedroom with two full bathrooms. Now, it’s getting a full makeover.
Aerial photos taken of the property revealed renovations are currently under way to transform the incredible home. The property appears to have been completely gutted, inside and out. The property’s pool was removed and metal poles were placed in the ground. According to Miami-Dade property records, the last recorded update for the lot’s pools, jacuzzi and patio was in 1994 – the year the home was built.

ROBERT DIENER: As the cofounder of Hotels.com and getaroom.com, it’s no surprise that Diener calls ‘Billionaire Bunker’ home. He owns a two-story, 17,100-square-foot house that boasts eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and four half baths, and he shares the sprawling mansion with his wife and their five children.
MARY STEPHENS SHULA: Shula, the widow of former NFL coach Don Shula, also lives in sprawling estate on the island, which was given to her in a divorce settlement from her third husband, Jackson T. Stephens, in 1991. Stephens boasted a net worth of $380 million before his death in 2005. Mary continues to reside in the 13,300-square-foot house – worth $4.14 million – by herself.
RAKESH GANGWAL: The co-founder and co-owner of IndiGo airline, and former CEO of U.S. Airways, also has a sprawling estate on the island, which was formerly owned by mutual fund billionaire Charles Johnson. Gangwal boasts a net worth of $4.3 billion.
CARL ICAHN: American financier Carl Icahn, who has an estimated net worth of $14.3 billion, built his fortune on Wall Street, but he now resides in the Sunshine State. Icahn has two children with his first wife, Liba Trejbal, whom he was married to from 1979 to 1999. He went on to wed Gail Golden, his longtime assistant and former broker, the same year his divorce was finalized. The couple has a gorgeous estate on the island, and Icahn has relocated his headquarters from New York City to Miami.
JEFFREY SOFFER: Soffer boasts a net worth of approximately $2 billion, which he accrued as a Miami-based real estate developer. The magnate lives in this sprawling estate on the island. Although he wed supermodel Elle Macpherson in 2013, after four years of marriage, the couple called it quits in 2017. Macpherson also still lives in Miami.
GEERT-JAN BAKKER: Dutch businessman Geert-Jan Bakker bought his $9.3 million mansion from Jay-Z and Beyonce in 2010. Although his parents started his multi-billion company, Bakker Magnetics, he continues running it today from his home in Miami. Bakker boasts a net worth of $25 billion.
