• Global Health, which operates and manages hospitals under the Medanta brand, on Friday said it has set a price band of Rs 319-336 a share for its Rs 2,206 crore initial public offering (IPO).
• The initial share sale will open for public subscription during November 3-7.
• The bidding for anchor investors will open on November 2, according to the company.
• The IPO consists of a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating to Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 5.08 crore equity shares.

A major fire broke out in a cloth godown in Mumbai’s Kurla area early on Friday, a civic official said.

The incident occurred in third Gulab Galli opposite Deluxe Hotel on LBS Marg, he said.

« The fire brigade received a call about the blaze around 4 am. Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the firefighting operation was launched, » the official said.

The fire spread to five to six adjoining galas (commercial spaces), but it remained restricted to electric wiring, plywood, stocks of wood and other material, he said, adding, « There is no report of any injury to anyone. »

The fire has been covered from all the sides and efforts are on to douse it, he added.

Fifteen houses were gutted in a massive fire in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Friday.

No one was injured in the blaze that broke out in Chag-Gandhari area of Paddar tehsil on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, they said.

Army and police personnel along with the locals launched an operation to douse the fire. By the time the blaze was extinguished, 15 residential structures were gutted and 23 families have been effected, Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Devansh Yadav told PTI.

The DCPCR’s early warning system has supported more than 33,000 students chronically absent from schools to resume their formal education, a statement said.

The early warning system, a collaboration between the Directorate of Education (DoE), the Delhi government and the Delhi Commission For Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR), aims to protect the « at-risk » children and bring them back to school.

It fundamentally operates on the idea that a substantially low school attendance of a student is the ramification of a circumstantial vulnerability threatening the child’s education and well-being, it said.

The Pentagon is sending Ukraine a new $275 million package of weapons and other aid, in a move to bolster the effort to drive Russian forces out of key areas in the south as the winter closes in, U.S. officials said Thursday.

Officials said there are no major new weapons in the U.S. package, which is expected to be announced on Friday.

Instead, the U.S. aid is largely aimed at restocking thousands of rounds of ammunition for weapons systems already there, including for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, known as HIMARS, which Ukraine has been successfully using in its counteroffensive against Russia.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of a package not yet made public.

An air-conditioned bus of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking caught fire in the northern suburb of Kandivali on Thursday evening, but no passenger was hurt in the incident, a civic official said.

The incident took place at around 6 pm at Lokhandwala Complex circle, when the bus was going towards Kranti Nagar from Kandivali (East) station, he said. The mid-sized bus was of the Daga group and was on wet lease with the BEST civic undertaking on the route no ‘A288’ , said the official.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday to sympathetically look into the problems being faced by farmers along the India-Pakistan border fence in the state.

Addressing a two-day « Chintan Shivir » of home ministers here, Mann urged Shah to reduce the distance between the border fence and the actual border to facilitate the farmers cultivating their land across the fence, according to an official release.

The chief minister said the distance must be reduced to 150-200 metres, instead of the existing around one kilometre, to ensure that the farmers of the border region benefit from it.

Lebanon and Israel signed copies of a US-mediated sea border deal on Thursday and delivered them to the UN in the coastal border town of Naqoura.

The agreement to demarcate the maritime border comes after months of indirect talks mediated by Amos Hochstein, the US envoy for energy affairs, and would mark a major breakthrough in relations between the two nations, which have formally been at war since Israel’s creation in 1948.
