High Schools: Niskayuna boys’ soccer beat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 3-0


Three different players scored goals in Niskayuna’s 3-0 Suburban Council boys’ soccer win Tuesday against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Ian Klenk, Andrew Stiles and Matt Stiles each scored a goal for Niskayuna.

In goal, Papa Ndiaye made five saves in the shutout.

Ryan Farr scored the lone goal in Saratoga Springs’ 1-0 win against Bethlehem, while Liam Donnelly made two saves in the shutout.

Zach Fruiterman scored Colonie’s goal in a 1-0 win against Ballston Spa. Liam Judge made nine saves in the shutout.

In an overtime Foothills Council boys’ soccer game, Broadalbin-Perth won 3-2 against Glens Falls. Sam Rogers scored his second goal of the contest to provide the game-winning score for Broadalbin-Perth, which also received a goal from Kody Rogers.

Kofi Jack scored Scotia-Glenville’s goal in a 1-0 win against Queensbury. Matt Schraa had the assist on the game-winning goal. Zach Place recorded seven saves in the shutout.

Nick Covey scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute for Amsterdam in a 3-2 win against Hudson Falls. Luke Patrie scored Amsterdam’s first two goals, while Tyler Cook scored both Hudson Falls goals.

Liam Armstrong scored four goals in Schuylerville’s 10-0 win against Johnstown.

TORRES LEADS SPARTANS
Sam Torres scored each goal for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in its 3-2 girls’ soccer win against Niskayuna. In the Suburban Council contest, Lauren Goyette had two goals — both off assists from Kaleigh West — for Niskayuna.

Claire Hutton registered three goals in Bethlehem’s 4-0 win against Saratoga Springs.

Isabella Franchi had a goal and two assists in Colonie’s 3-0 win against Ballston Spa. Hailey Lynn Blake made six saves in the shutout.
In a 6-0 Mechanicville win against Berlin/New Lebanon, Nevaeh D’Aloia had three goals and one assist in the Wasaren League game, and Madison Daley had two goals and one assist.

KREMPA STARS
In a 4-0 Foothills Council field hockey win against Glens Falls, Johnstown’s Cole Krempa scored three goals.

Angelina Regals scored six goals, and Olivia Geniti and Marlee Mancini each scored four in Scotia-Glenville’s 17-1 win against Gloversville.

KEHOE, McCLENON LEAD NISKAYUNA GOLFERS
Matt McClenon and Brayden Kehoe each shot an even-par 36 at Van Patten Golf Club in Niskayuna’s 227-289 Suburban Council boys’ golf win against Burnt Hills.

In a Western Athletic Conference match at Cobleskill Golf & Country Club, Fonda-Fultonville’s Colin Kowalski shot a 1-under par 36 to lead the Braves to a 15-0 win against Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

FRASER LEADS BROADALBIN-PERTH
Broadalbin-Perth defeated Scotia-Glenville 25-19, 25-4, 25-21 in a Foothills Council girls’ volleyball match. Olivia Fraser had 11 aces for Broadalbin-Perth, which also received six aces and a dozen assists from Ellie Mitchell, and six kills from Sophia Rogers. Scotia-Glenville’s Gabriela Harrigan contributed five aces.

Johnstown won 25-12, 25-19, 25-21 against Amsterdam. Teianna Frasier had 10 assists, 10 digs, eight kills and six aces to lead Johnstown, which also received 10 digs from Camille Gray.

Mayfield topped Duanesburg 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24 in a Western Athletic Conference matchup. Mayfield’s Julia Fitzgerlad had 13 assists. For Duanesburg, Heather Black had 13 assists and Hannah Borski contributed 11 kills.

OESJ defeated Schoharie 25-21, 25-21, 15-25, 15-25, 25-18. Brooke Trumble had 13 digs, 10 assists and seven aces to lead OESJ, while Jade Dygert added 16 digs, Kaydence Souza contributed 11 digs and Arianna Souza had seven kills. Schoharie’s Tori Harrington contributed five kills.

Burnt Hills -Ballston Lake topped Niskayuna 25-12, 25-15, 25-14 in a Suburban Council match. Carlie Rzeszotarski had 14 kills and Callie Chevalier added 11 for Burnt Hills, which received 28 assists from Danielle DeBonis. For Niskayuna, Anajana Kurian contributed 12 assists and 10 digs.

Gabriella Kholstinin dished 21 assists, Lili Yefimenko contributed 16 digs and Noelle Slye had 12 kills in Saratoga Springs’ 25-20, 25-15, 26-24 win against Bethlehem.
