Neighbourhood Governance in Urban China

The last decade has witnessed a surge in collective action by homeowners in China against the infringement of their rights, yet the Chinese authorities have, in turn, become increasingly sensitive to the potential risk of such actions becoming destabilising forces in urban arenas. This book looks at both the theoretical and empirical underpinning of the self-governance of homeowners and their collective action.
