One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in the Nu’uanu area Wednesday night.

Myeni was then taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Officer has ruled his death as a homicide. The cause was found to be multiple gunshot wounds.

Another male officer with 23-years of service was treated for facial injuries and remains in the hospital. Other officers involved has 18 and 10-years of service. They also sustained injuries.

Police say Myeni was 29-years-old.

“He was gentle and loving and the best father and husband I could’ve asked for. There’s no reason this should have happened. I’m white and I guarantee he would not have been shot had he been white. The White House bomber is still loose but my husband is dead. This is ridiculous,” his wife said.
